Why pre-arrange a funeral?

Preplanning one's funeral arrangements is a way of offering peace of mind to those who will take care of us when we leave this world. Making funeral arrangements at the time of loss is extremely difficult for those left behind. When the funeral has been arranged in advance, our wishes are known. When a death occurs there after, loved ones are allowed the time they need to care for one another and say goodbye in serenity.

At your request, a counsellor will meet you discretely at your home during the week or the weekend, daytime or evening, in order to inform you of all the different pre-arrangement services available. These information interviews are held in strict confidence, no pressure tactics are applied and they in no way commit you.

Making your funeral pre-arrangements now:

  • Protects your family from having to make decisions that could cause conflicts or added stress and fatigue at such a difficult time;
  • Makes the grieving process easier for those left behind by making important decisions now in a calm and unhurried manner and informing your family of your wishes;
  • Ensures that your last wishes are objectively executed according to law by a recognized legal entity;
  • Guarantees that the final costs will not change over the next ten or twenty years. In fact, our prices are guaranteed. If a particular product is no longer available, it will be replaced by an equivalent or superior quality product;
  • Finally, brings you peace of mind knowing this important matter is taken care of.

Let's be honest: Pre-arrangements are an advantage for us, but even more so for you and your family.

FAQ :

What does prearranging mean?

Prearranging means planning all or part of the details of a funeral for yourself or a person for whom you are responsible for in advance.  The choice of these details vary widely from one person to another.  Some people choose to plan all the details in advance while others prefer to make the major decisions and leave some options for their family.  A growing number of people choose to prepay for all services, thus sparing their families from all financial burden and any difficult decisions at the time of their passing.

I already have a will. Why should I subscribe to a prearrangement plan?

For  many different reasons. It often happens that a will is not immediately available, and some time and searching are required to obtain it.  In these cases, the will could be read long after the funeral.

Is it necessary to pay in advance?

No. Although many people choose to prepay, there are a wide variety of options available to you.   Keep in mind that the earlier in life that one subscribes to a prearrangement plan, the lower the interest rate will be.

May I cancel my prearrangement?

If you move or need this money, you can cancel at any time.  If you want to cancel, the Brome-Missisquoi Funeral Complex will refund any money you paid into the prearrangement.
